My client is looking for a Visual Basic Developer for a role based in Leyland with a salary of 30K.

Job Description

To provide ongoing technical support and specified enhancements to the organisation’s software, with particular emphasis on the VB6, SQL Server and reporting technologies.

Role

- Responsible for developing and supporting our core systems written in VB6 and SQL Server 2000
- Dependent on skills and business priorities, there are also opportunities to get involved with following technologies:
Crystal Reports
SQL Reporting Services
Classic ASP, Javascript, AJAX

Qualifications/Experience

Ideally educated to degree level in a science or computer related discipline

Skills and Experience

• Experience in Visual Basic, to include supporting and developing VB-SQL Server applications with ADO.
• Knowledge of SQL Server 2000, including good experience of stored procedures and T-SQL.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent system design skills are essential.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Highly self-motivated and directed.
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language.
• Experience of interpreting specifications, written and verbal requirements.
• Keen attention to detail.

• Must be able to work autonomously and as part of a team
• Hard working and reliable with attention to detail
• Good communication skills
