Registered Care Manager required for Blackpool care home, Lancashire
To comply with current legislation and mandatory requirements pertaining to the Care Standards Act and other statutory and regulatory requirements including Fire, Health and Safety and Food safety practices; meet requirements for licence to sell intoxicating liquor.
To take the lead on inspections and audits from external and internal agencies including CQCI, Health and Safety Executive, Environmental Health and Area Welfare visits
Ensure financial controls are maintained and Accounts / Finance staff are supported.
To work within set budgets, monitor spending and provide management and statistical data to Central Headquarters.
To negotiate fees with local authorities on an ongoing basis for and on behalf of clients.
To promote liaison and maintain good working relationships with internal agencies including Area Welfare Officers, other branches, and external agencies such as Local Authorities, Benefits Agencies and Community Health and Care Teams.
To manage the day-to-day running of the Home ensuring a safe, pleasant and homely atmosphere is maintained for clients and their families.
To plan and maintain staff rotas that promotes minimum safe staffing levels.
To lead on the recruitment and selection of new staff and comply with current policy.
To manage all Heads of Department including conducting regular supervision and annual appraisals, in line with the Staff Employment Handbook and policy.
To work with the Care Supervisor and support her/him to ensure the care and support delivered is of a high quality and is conducive to the needs of the clients, in line with the current legislation.
To manage and deal with clients and carers complaints in line with legislation.
To promote continual development for the staff team and ensure all staff training meets legislative requirements and meets the needs of the service
To ensure effective communication systems are in place for all staff
To share good practice with other managers and attend managers meetings once a quarter.
To organise and chair regular meetings with staff and management within the Home
To inform the Director of Welfare and the Welfare Manager of any issues or incidents concerning the operation of the Home, including staff or clients
To work with the Central Headquarters marketing team in order to organise fundraising initiatives, attain a high profile and maintain occupancy levels within the Home.
To have, or be willing to undertake, NVQ 4 in Care and Management or Registered Managers Award.
As a requirement of the job some evening and weekend work may be required.
