Drum Lessons

Lessons taught by one of London's premier Contemporary Music College's
'Best Overall Student'

I offer lessons to players of all ages, from beginners upwards, in a friendly, relaxed way, but giving you the results you're looking for. You can either come to my home, or I can travel to you if you live in Lancaster/Kendal or the surrounding areas (price negotiable depending on distance), and am available during the day and into the evening. I am proficient in many styles of music, from jazz and pop to rock and fusion. Lessons are tailored to the individuals goals of the student and are taken at a suitable pace for each student's capabilities.

For Beginners I will cover quite a lot of basic stuff that will give you a great sense of initial acheivment, before going into more detail with regards to technique etc. There's nothing worse than paying for a whole lesson just to be told how to correctly sit on a drum stool!

Material covered will include:
• A wide range of beats and fills in many popular styles.
• Fundamentals of technique- stick grips, foot technique, rudiments.
• Transcription of the students favourite music, and analysis of how to play it.
• Theory: reading, note values, timing concepts, and even advanced concepts like metric modulation and polyrhythms!
• Double bass drum techniques and 4 limb co-ordination.
Lessons are £20 an hour from my home and £25 an hour for a home visit. Handouts are included in the price to keep the students learning and practicing outside of lessons.
