Dear parents of year 11 (final high school year) students. I am offering for a very reasonable price, the chance for your child to improve his/her chances of passing GCSE courses in Geography and in English literature & language.

I am a student and employee of the University of Manchester and although I am only 25 years old, it has been suggested in home education literature that it is vital for any tutoring outside of ordinary school hours to be overseen by somebody who can connect on a personal level with the student in order to get the best results for the time spent.

In order to assure that this student-tutor connection is achieved and if at all it is possible, our first meeting would be in the format of a "getting to know you" session that is of course, free of charge. I can only teach those that wish to learn and it is always useful to find if I will be of any added value to your child's education at all, as you may well have a very capable student on your hands already!

I am local to Chadderton which is between Oldham and Middleton, and I would prefer to give the mentoring sessions within my own home due to time constraints. My usual time slots are at weekends for two hours but no less than one hour and no more than 3 hours in any one session.

Parents are responsible for their child's actions and absolutely no bad behaviour will be tolerated. The sessions will end with immediate effect should this occur and I reserve the right to make that decision at any time although, rest assured that I promote a fun and inviting atmosphere that should only encourage an interest in the subject at hand and an enrichment of your child's learning potential.
