Youth Offending Officer (Yos, Lancashire (Temp)
Youth Offending Service (YOS) Officer required to join the children and families youth justice team on a temporary basis (3months initially outlined- could be on-going). Ideally candidates will have a minimum 1 years working knowledge within children and families settings, with experience of court work and youth offending procedures, although candidates with less but fully relevant experience will also be considered.
Main Duties and Responsibilities :
1. To prepare reports for the Courts, Youth Offender Panels and to manage cases that are
supervised by the Youth Offending Team. To do this in accordance with Youth Offending Team policy, procedures and national standards
2. To undertake assessments of young offenders using Asset.
3. To undertake assessments of parents and Onset assessments on behalf of YISP.
4. To ensure that statutory requirements are met in connection with cases managed.
5. To recruit, train and support volunteer mentors to work with young people and their
families.
The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW (or equivalent), must be registered with the GSCC, have a current CRB and hold a valid UK driving license. The post is looking to run for a minimum 3 months contract.
