What is Russian Honey and Cupping Massage?

Russian Honey and Cupping Massage is a combination of two techniques. Russian Honey Massage is an ancient treatment that has been practised in Asia and eastern Europe for centuries. Honey is massaged into the skin until it becomes sticky and the therapist will work the medium until white pellets appear on the surface of the skin. These pellets are believed to be toxins and salts that the honey has absorbed and removed from the body. The honey also benefits the skin, leaving it feeling nourished and moisturised.
Cupping massage has been practised in many countries over the years. It is a deep tissue massage which stimulates the peripheral nervous system by creating suction and negative pressure. It can loosen fibrous adhesions, increase blood flow to the muscles and drain excess fluid and toxins.
In Russia, cupping massage is used before the honey massage to increase circulation to the skin in order for the honey to absorb the toxins and transfer nutrients more easily.
