Title: Skilled Tool Maker

THE ROLE
• Reporting to the Tool Room Manager, this role will involve:
• Conventional milling, turning, grinding, drilling and bench fitting.
• CNC machining.
• Lifting of tools/die sections up to 25kg.
• Repair/replace damaged or broken tooling.
• Use of over head hoists and handling materials.
• Problem solving in a Toolroom/Press Shop/ Machine Shop/Foundry environment.
• Design of tooling.
• Maintaining documentation required by the business.
• Maintaining the required standards of housekeeping.
• Liaising with supervision to establish requirements.
• Daily use of hand tools.
• Contributing to continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
• Time served apprenticeship.
• General level of education, GCSE/0 level or equivalent.
• HNC in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, would be an advantage.

IDEAL SKILLS
• Time served highly skilled individual.
• Familiar will all types of press tools, jigs and fixtures.
• Familiar with wax or plastic injection mould tools.
• A team player who can work on own initiative.
• Expected to deliver high quality work to agreed timescales.

HOURS OF WORK
This position is based on a day shift ,however, flexibility to cover any of the following shifts is essential.

Dayshift - 7.30am to 4.15pm Monday to Thursday with ½ hour unpaid break for lunch each day and 7.30am to 12.30pm on Friday

Twilight Shift - 4.00pm to midnight Monday to Thursday and 12 noon to 6.00pm on Friday

Nightshift - 10.00pm to 7.30am Monday to Thursday

Pay rate is £10.24 per hour and abundant overtime is available at X1.5 Monday to Friday and Saturday
