JLS
Since joining Adam @ Breakfast in July we just couldn’t keep the guys away and the JLS boys, Aston, JB, Marvin and Oritse will be returning to Preston.
JLS rose to fame on the TV show The X Factor last year and have supported Lemar on his recent UK tour. Since then their fan base has continued to grow and they have been doing interviews up and down the country as well as recording their debut album and releasing their debut single ‘Beat Again’.
Beverley Knight
Soul and R&B singer Beverley Knight has won a massive seven music awards since 1996 and will be singing the tracks that made her famous as well as some new material from her forthcoming album.
Her most popular song to date was ‘Shoulda Woulda Coulda’ in 2002, however she has had many other top 20 tracks including ‘Greatest Day’, ‘Come As You Are’ and ’Piece of My Heart’.
In June Beverley Knight announced her new tour called 100% which will kick off in London on the 3rd of September this year, which will be her sixth tour since 2002
Booty Luv
Booty Luv began as part of the group Big Brovaz who are known for their 2002 hits ‘Nu-Flow’ and ‘Favourite Things’.
In 2006 Cherise Roberts and Nadia Shepherd joined forces as Booty Luv and recorded a cover of Tweet’s ‘Boogie 2nite’ which was an instant hit in the dance chart and consequently held the top position on The Hits and TMF music channels.
Since their debut in 2006 Booty Luv have had four top 20 chart hits with three of the songs reaching the top spot in the UK dance chart.
Peter Andre
Brit-born Peter Andre first found fame when his family immigrated to Australia and he appeared on the TV programme New Faces, similar to X Factor.
It wasn’t until years later however, when Peter Andre moved back to the UK and released (for the second time) Mysterious Girl which hit number 2 in the charts and secured his success in the UK.
Peter Andre has racked up eight top 5 hits in the UK to date and this autumn he will be releasing his new album.
Tinchy Stryder
‘Take Me Back featuring Taio Cruz’ was Tinchy Stryder first venture into the charts as the single reached number 3 earlier this year. After which ‘Number 1’, a collaboration with N-Dubz saw out the top spot when it hit number 1 in April.
Due to the success of ‘Number 1’ Tinchy Stryder’s debut album and third single have been pushed back to August 2009. His third single ‘Catch 22’ features Amelle from the Sugababes.
Blazin’ Squad
Between 2002 and 2004 Blazin’ Squad bagged no less than 6 top ten hits including the number 1 Crossroads.
Originally consisting of 10 members, the original Blazin’ Squad went their separate ways in 2005. In 2006 a four-piece returned to release ‘All Night Long’. Now as a five-piece Blazin’ Squad return to the charts and you can see them this August at Rock in the Park.
Ironik
Ironik is from London and started his career in the music industry at 13 by working as a DJ in clubs.
His first single was released in 2007 and was named ‘So Nice’. The single received success on music channels.
Ironik’s genre of music varies from R&B, pop and hip hop he was also nominated for the Best Newcomer in 2008 MOBO Awards and Best Newcomer and Best Music Video ‘stay with me’ at the 2008 Urban Music Awards.
Jade Ewen
Born and raised East London Jade had a challenging childhood. Her dad is blind and her mum suffers from Myasthenia Gravis, leaving her partially bind and deaf.
Approached by a drama school that recognised her potential, Jade won one of the precious few scholarships on offer. As a teenager she attended of Sylvia Young Theatre School, she appeared in The Bill and Casualty.
Despite being unsigned, acclaimed producer Kwame (Missy/ Mary J. Blige), was so impressed with the music he heard on Jade's MySpace, he invited her to record with him in New York.
Just Jack
Just Jack is from London and has had a love of dance music since being interested in break dancing at the age of eight.
Just Jack’s debut album ‘The Outer Marker’ was released in September 2002 and contained songs about modern life, relationships, and different pressures of life.
Just Jack’s second album was released in 2007 and entered the UK charts at number six. However Just Jack’s best known songs are ‘Writers Block’, Starz in their eyes’ and ‘The Day I Died’.
Mr Hudson
Mr Hudson and The Library are a band from London but now known as Mr Hudson.
There are five members in the band, Ben Hudson on vocals and the guitar, Joy Joseph who is also on vocals and plays the steel drum, Torville Jones who plays the piano, Raphael Mann on the Bass guitar and Wilkie Wilkinson who plays the electric drums.
Mr Hudson released their debut album called A Tale of Two Cities on 05 March 2007 and even toured with Amy Winehouse.
Their new album is set to be released in October 2009 which has been produced by Kayne West.
Preston
Preston, the lead singer of The Ordinary Boys is also well known for his appearance in January Celebrity Big Brother.
After appearing in Celebrity Big Brother The Ordinary Boys had success with their single ‘Boys will be Boys’. However after that Preston confirmed the end of The Ordinary Boys and announced that a solo album would be taking place.
Preston will be releasing his solo single called Dressed to Kill in August 2009.
